Med Surg II is a 18 bed Medical Surgical Unit that provides care to a diverse population of acute medical and surgical patients. Staff are trained to care for multiple patient populations and develop skills in Medical Surgical nursing and caring for patients requiring ventilator support. Nursing staff are provided a comprehensive orientation to multiple medical-surgical departments within the hospital, providing the opportunity to care for a varied patient population while developing a robust range of nursing skills caring for both medical-surgical patients and ventilated patients.
