UM Health-West’s Epilepsy Clinic has a dedicated team specialized in the diagnosis and management of epilepsy.

Services Provided:

• Diagnosis of seizures or epilepsy and seizure mimics
• Management of patients with first time seizure or recurrent seizures
• Management of epilepsy in women and during pregnancy
• Management of VNS (vagal nerve stimulator), a device which may lessen the seizures burden in patients with refractory/difficult to treat seizures

Diagnostic Testing Offered

• Outpatient routine, extended and ambulatory electroencephalography studies (EEGs)
• Inpatient epilepsy monitoring unit with 24/7 neuromonitoring technologist and specially trained nursing staff
• Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) with epilepsy protocol
