Collection Requirements
Preferably, collection should take place two weeks after the first day of the menstrual cycle. A cotton tip applicator may not be used; instead use a plastic spatula and cervical brush, or a plastic broom. Legibly label the glass slide with the patient's full name on the frosted end of the slide with a lead pencil or permanent marker. After the specimen is spread evenly on the slide, IMMEDIATELY fix the slide. Label the container with patient's name and one other patient identifier; room number, if applicable; doctor's name; date and time of collection; and source of specimen.
Shipping and Handling Instructions
Transport at room temperature in a specimen bag to the laboratory.
Notes
To replace labpapcd and labpapcs conventional paps.
