Instructions
DO NOT take this medicine by mouth.
Clean and dry the area to be treated before applying the medicine.
Use the applicator to apply the medicine to the affected area.
Follow the instructions on the package to use this medicine correctly.
Apply medicine to clean, intact, dry skin on the shoulder, upper arm, abdomen, or thigh. Allow the medicine to dry completely before it touches any clothing.
Discard any remaining medicine in the tube after a treatment. Use a new tube each time.
Keep the medicine at room temperature. Avoid heat and direct light.
This medicine should only be used on the skin.
Avoid getting the medicine in the eyes, nose, or mouth. Wash the medicine off your fingers after applying it.
Use only on normal looking skin. Avoid skin that is red, scraped, or damaged.
Wash your hands before and after handling this medicine.
Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth after handling the medicine.
If medicine gets in your eyes, rinse well with cool water.
The area should be covered by clothing.
Do not shower, bathe, or swim for at least 1 hour after applying the medicine.
To avoid irritating the skin, apply the medicine to a different location each time.
To reduce constipation, eat high fiber foods, drink plenty of water and exercise.
To relieve dry mouth, chew gum, suck on hard candy/ice chips, drink extra water, or use a saliva substitute.
Drug interactions can change how medicines work or increase risk for side effects. Tell your health care providers about all medicines taken. Include prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal medicines. Speak with your doctor or pharmacist before starting or stopping any medicine.
This medicine is flammable. Do not use it near heaters, open flame or while smoking. Do not crush, puncture, or burn container.
Cautions
Tell your doctor and pharmacist if you ever had an allergic reaction to a medicine.
Do not use the medication any more than instructed.
If possible, avoid using with alcohol, marijuana, or other medicines that can cause dizziness or drowsiness. These include allergy/cold products, muscle relaxers, sleep aids, and pain relievers.
Your ability to stay alert or to react quickly may be impaired by this medicine. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this medicine will affect you.
Avoid becoming overheated during exercise or other activities. Try to stay cool in hot weather.
Tell the doctor or pharmacist if you are pregnant, planning to be pregnant, or breastfeeding.
Do not let other people touch the skin where this medicine is applied.
If you forget to use a dose on time, use it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, do not use the missed dose. Return to your normal dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses of this medicine at one time.
Do not share this medicine with anyone who has not been prescribed this medicine.
Tell your doctor if symptoms do not get better or if they get worse.
Side Effects
The following is a list of some common side effects from this medicine. Please speak with your doctor about what you should do if you experience these or other side effects.
- constipation
- dizziness or drowsiness
- headaches
- skin irritation where medicine is applied
Call your doctor or get medical help right away if you notice any of these more serious side effects:
- agitated feeling or trouble sleeping
- confusion
- hallucinations (unusual thoughts, seeing or hearing things that are not real)
- mood changes
- rapid heartbeat
- severe stomach or bowel pain
- difficulty or discomfort urinating
- blurring or changes of vision
A few people may have an allergic reaction to this medicine. Symptoms can include difficulty breathing, skin rash, itching, swelling, or severe dizziness. If you notice any of these symptoms, seek medical help quickly.
