Greatest Generation Day Flyover

The Grand Rapids Greatest Generation Day Committee is excited to announce a special event honoring the 75th Anniversary of the end of World War II. On September 2, 1945, with the signing of the Instrument of Surrender aboard the U.S. Navy battleship the USS Missouri, World War II was officially over. On September 2, 2020, a B17, C47, B25 World War II Plane Flyover will take place in various locations around Grand Rapids to honor our county’s heroes.

At approximately 6:05 PM, the planes will fly over Metro Health and the Grand Rapids Veterans Administration Outpatient Clinic. We invite you to come to Metro Health and view the flyover. In addition, we will have portraits of WWII veterans on display outside of the main entrance. We hope to see you there as we support of veterans of the Greatest Generation.

Friday Intermediate Yoga

If you want to take your yoga practice to the next level, this is the class for you. In addition to helping you further develop strength and flexibility, this class features vinyasa (flowing from pose to pose). We will also teach yoga principles that you can apply to all aspects of your life. Please bring a yoga mat or blanket. Class will be held on the Granger Green, located across the street from the main entrance of the Metro Health Hospital.

Not only will you learn how to practice yoga, you will learn about its health benefits and how you can apply yoga principles to your daily life. Please bring a yoga mat or blanket. TaiChi Easy for Stress, Pain and Mobility

Each session of this 6-week class will feature a combination of TaiChi Easy elements: gentle movement and simple forms, self-massage, breathing and meditation and more. Adaptable for all levels of mobility and activity levels. Please bring something such as a yoga mat, lawn chair or blanket to sit on for mediation. Class will be held on the Granger Green, located across the street from the main entrance of the Metro Health Hospital.
