Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy

Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy is the use of drugs to destroy cancer. Not all treatments are the same. A cancer patient’s treatment may consist of one drug or a group of drugs that work together—called combination therapy.

These drugs can be taken by mouth or directly injected into the bloodstream. They can be given in your doctor’s office, in the hospital or at home, depending on how you’re feeling and what kind(s) of drug(s) you’re receiving.

These treatments are administered at regular intervals – each plan being tailored to the individual patient’s need. The length and frequency of treatment depends upon the specific patient and medication(s) being used.

The Cancer Center offers an oral chemotherapy program with staff that support patients throughout their treatment. Our infusion area includes recliners, semi-private rooms and private rooms. Our team strives to partner patients with one or two nurses to promote consistency with patient care.

Our infusion area provides light refreshments, such as coffee and tea. Patients are welcome to bring in their own food and drink choice, and there are several local restaurants that offer delivery to our facility.

Patients may bring two visitors to a provider visit and one visitor to the infusion area.
